Positive Behavior Support-Nevada (PBS-NV) has existed in the state of Nevada since 1999, housed at the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities at the University of Nevada, Reno; and funded by the Fund for a Healthy Nevada (FHN). In 2014, in collaboration with the Nevada Department of Education, PBS-NV was awarded the School Climate Transformation Grant to scale up School-Wide PBIS across the state. In response to the newly awarded funding, PBS-NV restructured, hired new staff, and transformed into the Nevada PBIS Technical Assistance Center, housing distinct projects: PBS-Nevada Family Services, School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBS), the School Climate Transformation Project, customized PBS and PBIS training, and Nevada’s Association for Positive Behavior Support (APBS) Network. In October of 2015, the Center was awarded a development grant to start a new project providing services to caregivers of the aging population. The Nevada PBIS TA Center provides technical assistance for PBS activities throughout the state, and seeks opportunities to scale up and provide PBS and applied behavior analysis services and support in a variety of settings to a variety of populations.
