We are always looking for ways to continue our education and stay in touch with current research in applied behavior analysis and positive behavior support. Four of us recently attended the Association for Behavior Analysis International Conference in San Antonio, Texas. At this conference, we divide and conquer in order to attend as many talks as possible and share information with each other. We often bring home information that we use to update curricula or ideas for future research.
We also take the opportunity to present our own research in the field of behavior analysis. Ashley Greenwald presented data from her dissertation about using behavior-based strategies during childbirth, and Kathryn Roose presented her thesis about the use of goal setting and feedback.
In addition, the Nevada PBIS Technical Assistance Center was represented at the ABAI PBS Special Interest Group where PBS supporters from all over the world meet up at the ABAI conference to discuss and disseminate information regarding PBS and applied behavior analysis.
