Positive Behavior Support-Nevada Aging Services is funded by Nevada’s Aging and Disabilities Services Division.
The TA Center received a 1 year development grant in 2015. The PBS-Nevada Aging Project has spent many months researching applications of applied behavior analysis and positive behavior support to the aging population, and individuals living with neurocognitive disorders including Alzheimer’s Disease. The Project has visited assisted living facilities and other facilities that provide services to the elderly, and families and caregivers of the elderly.
We developed a new training curriculum, focusing on issues that affect the elderly, and a service delivery model designed to provide quality services to as many families as possible. We are currently holding our first workshop, which includes five group classes and five individual consultations.
The project received an additional year of funding from ADSD in 2016 to continue providing services to Nevada families.
